Steam Machine Turtle!

This is another short project that I finished a few months ago, and finally got around to publishing it last night. It's a steampunk turtle with a watch in its back, and a turnkey which makes it work. The turtle itself doesn't animate. I spent more time working on the textures, lighting, and compositing than I wanted to, but I wanted to get a new reel out before the end of the year. I'll come back to this idea down the line, when I feel like making a steampunk axolotl in the shape of my pet Luka (I'll post a photo of him soon)!

Whoever sees this, enjoy :D

Welcome! Here's my reel!

Welcome!

When you want to make it as a CG artist, the most common method of obtaining work (besides word of mouth, you lucky people you!) is by submitting a demo reel, and impressing the receiving end well enough to bring you on as an intern/freelancer/mercenary/staffer. This being said, there is no better way to exemplify my abilities at this point in time, as one is always developing, by including my demo reel as of December 2012!

The animations in this clip are a mixture of commercials that I have worked on at various studios as well as personal experiments. I have noticed that for the most part people are interested in the professional work, but that's how business goes eh? I like to put a few personal projects in there to show that I do more outside of the job, and am serious about what I do!

However, as of now, I deal in images, not in words! Enjoy!

Welcome...where am I?

This is my first post...on a blog...ever...EVER!  I don't think I could have ever conceived of such a notion.  A BLOG!?  Shirley you can't be serious!?  However.......it IS a new year, and I wanted to start things off the right way up until the point where 'ole Zelda and Final Fantasy games I've never played before decided to take over my Christmas vacation...and all my free time afterward.  I wanted to keep up on the productivity, but not necessarily on the "commercial" end of things.

As I work on personal endeavors, and create "finished" pieces, eventually I will develop and create bits and pieces of appealing art, or "concepts", that show the end result of a brain commanding hundreds and thousands of beautiful little neurons to move a mouse and make art.

Instead of a prim and proper professional demeanor, I intend to let loose in the form of a faux digital persona that updates recent advancements/accomplishments with my 3D/CG art, and maybe even a little writing here and there.  Honestly, anything can or WILL happen here.

Guinness!  It's good for you!
